Dizzy Mallone: Taking Care of People
Code of Conduct
Starting in the 80’s till the first years of this millennium the production of Dizzy Mallone was concentrated in Italy. After diversification of our offer, we started producing also outside of Europe, where we found specialists for our new articles.
With the experience of manufacturing in Italy, Dizzy Mallone has developed its purchasing process to make a good selection of the suppliers. New partners not only for quality, price and service, but also for working with responsibility: taking care of people.
We ask all our suppliers, a certificate of corporate social responsibility. This can be BSCI, GOTS, Fair Trade, or other to ensure good working conditions.
If they do not have any of these certificates we ask them to accept, sign and work according to the Dizzy Mallone Code of Conduct.
These certificates, including also Dizzy Mallone code of conduct, are based on the International Labour Organization’s Declaration of the United Nations, where are written the principles and fundamental labor rights. This statement has been ratified by most of the nations. But as we know, unfortunately (especially in the textile industry), there are many companies where these rights are not respected.
Our code of conduct includes several basic values that our suppliers have to meet:
– NO child labor
– Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
– Freedom and remuneration of labor
– Employment must be freely chosen
– Freedom of association
– Safe working conditions
– Guaranteed minimum wages
– Working hours should not be excessive
– No discrimination
With this deliberate choice of suppliers working according to a Code of Conduct, Dizzy Mallone shows that competitive prices can get along with responsibility: taking care of people
